Gunshots rang out like a bell.....

Some news worthy events happened last Friday at a local middle school. A student brought a gun to school and was pointing at others and an officer. Since he was pointing the gun at him, the officer shot and killed the student. Alot of the media is saying that he should have just used a taser. Are they serious? I know that if any students had been shot the parents would then be asking why they didn't shoot the student. I am sorry people but it is sad that it has come to this and I am worried that at any given time a student could have a weapon in his backpack in my classroom. I wouldn't put it past many of them. And I am not exactly their best friend. I am not terrified or anything but after these events went down last week, the thought has occured. I am hoping that making a difference in their lives is worth it but am I really making a difference?
